My name is Joyce and I am a Counsellor in Plympton, Plymouth, and I also see clients in and near Totnes, Devon.
I offer both short and long term therapy to clients of any faith or none, and a safe non judgemental empathic and confidential space for you to talk and to help you to identify, explore, and make sense of feelings and experiences which have a negative impact on the quality of your life.
During my 11years as a Counsellor I have worked in a GP practice, in private practice, and in various counselling agencies one of which specialised in counselling clients who had been abused in childhood or later life, and another which specialised in working with clients who had been bereaved. I have also had extensive experience of working with a range of issues including relationships, low self esteem, anxiety, depression, stress, anger,and unresolved issues from the past.
I hold a Diploma in Pastoral and Clinical Counselling, an Advanced Certificate in Counselling, a Diploma in Creative Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, a Certificate in Bereavement Counselling and a Certificate in Marriage and Family Counselling. In addition I have completed specialisedl training courses in Psychodynamic Counselling, Transactional Analysis, the Abuse, and Working with Bereaved Children and Young People as well as other various short CPD courses to broaden my knowledge and improve my practice. I also have a Certificate in Supervision.
I am a BACP Accredited Counsellor/Psythotherapist MBACP (Accred), a UKRCP Registered Independent Cousellor/Psythotherapist and an Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor with ACC and my work is carried out in accordance with the Ethical Guidelines and Practice of both BACP and ACC. I receive regular supervision for my Counselling and for the Supervision which I give to my supervisees.
